• Tablets valued at some 11,000 euros donated for visionary lesson planning

Shortly before Christmas, Webasto – one of the 100 leading suppliers to the automotive industry – presented students and teachers at the ‘an der Würm’ Elementary school in Stockdorf a very special gift: a wheeled tablet PC case containing 16 tablet PCs valued at 10,726 euros. With this gift Webasto is supporting the school’s participation in the “Digital School 2020” school experiment, which is organized by the Stiftung Bildungspakt Bayern ("Bavarian Educational Pact Foundation"). The aim of this project is to drive forward digitalization at Bavarian schools on an educationally purposeful level and to strengthen cooperation among schools.

“Digital School 2020”: Webasto Supports the ‘an der Würm’ Elementary School in Stockdorf

“As a global company we know how important it is to proactively and openly adapt to the trends in our environment”, emphasized Dr. Holger Engelmann, Chairman of the Management Board Webasto SE, at the donation ceremony. “It’s great to see that the elementary school in Stockdorf views digitalization as an opportunity and intends to harness it specifically for promoting young people.”

The elementary school stands out for its longstanding willingness to innovate and it trials modern methods to ensure forward-looking learning development. The integration of digital media in the teaching and learning processes is a logical next step. The basis for this is the establishment and expansion of the IT infrastructure, which Webasto is facilitating with this donation. Bettina Aufhauser, principal of the elementary school, expressed her sincere thanks for this commitment on the part of Webasto: “As a state institution we depend on financial support. We are very lucky to have Webasto as a non-school partner in our immediate vicinity.” Back in September 2017 Webasto had already donated 3,000 euros to the school's fundraising association for school supplies and student excursions.
